Joe Manganiello details marriage and divorce in new memoir

In his new memoir, “Bloodlines”, actor Joe Manganiello provides new details regarding his marriage to Sofía Vergara and the circumstances surrounding their divorce. Manganiello describes a period during their marriage when he suffered from a mysterious illness that doctors could not explain. During this time, the couple consulted a shaman in Cuba who claimed that Vergara’s former fiancé, Nick Loeb, had placed a “voodoo curse” on Manganiello in New Orleans.

Manganiello expressed feeling overwhelmed and suspicious of the shaman’s specific knowledge regarding his health. Beyond the supernatural claims, the memoir touches on the emotional distance that grew between the couple.

Vergara and Manganiello were married for seven years, having wed in November 2015 after dating for several months. They officially announced their decision to divorce in July 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences” in legal filings. Sources indicated the couple had been growing apart for some time prior to the separation.
