Seattle Seahawks to sign running back Joe Mixon

Seattle Seahawks Joe Mixon NFL running back practice squad

The Seattle Seahawks are planning to sign veteran two-time Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon to their practice squad, pending a successful physical. Mixon, 30, is returning to the NFL after missing the entire 2025 season due to a foot injury that led to his release from the Houston Texans in March.

The move aims to address depth issues in the Seahawks' backfield. The team is currently dealing with injuries to rookie Jadarian Price, who is on injured reserve with a chest injury, and Zach Charbonnet, who is recovering from a torn ACL and is expected to remain out for Week 5.

Mixon previously recorded over 1,000 rushing yards in five of his eight NFL seasons, including a 1,016-yard campaign with Houston in 2024. Following his workout and medical checks, Mixon expressed his excitement to join the team via social media.
