Joe Sibanyoni testifies at Madlanga Commission regarding assassination attempts
Joe ‘Ferrari’ Sibanyoni, a prominent taxi industry operator, testified before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria regarding allegations of extortion, money laundering, and organized crime.
Sibanyoni detailed surviving two assassination attempts, one in 2006 and another in August 2022. He stated that the violence and threats have extended to his entire family. During his testimony, he addressed allegations of links to senior police figures and various tenders in Tshwane.
Sibanyoni also testified that Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe allegedly moved drug-dealing operations to a farm owned by the late taxi boss Jothan ‘King Mswazi’ Msibi in Hammanskraal between 2021 and 2022. He further alleged that underworld figures Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala and Molefe acted as hitmen for Msibi.
While acknowledging social acquaintances with businessman Steve Motsumi and Molefe through Msibi, Sibanyoni denied any business ties or financial dealings with either individual.
