Joe Skipper suspended 18 months for whereabouts failures

British professional triathlete Joe Skipper has been handed an 18-month suspension following three whereabouts failures within a twelve-month period. The International Testing Agency (ITA) announced that the International Hearing Panel of Sport Resolutions concluded Skipper breached IRONMAN anti-doping rules.

The sanction, which began on May 18, 2026, results in the disqualification of all his competitive results achieved since May 15, 2025. This includes the forfeiture of all associated points, prizes, and medals. The whereabouts failures occurred between July 1, 2024, and May 15, 2025.

Skipper has denied using any prohibited substances, stating he has undergone more than 40 tests during his career. He attributed the violations to personal errors and organizational issues, accepting responsibility for failing to manage his reporting obligations correctly. The decision remains subject to appeal.
