Joe Willock may be sold by Newcastle United in January
Newcastle United may be prepared to sell midfielder Joe Willock during the upcoming January transfer window. Despite a positive start to the season under manager Matthias Jaissle, where Willock has scored two goals in five league appearances, the 27-year-old’s contract situation remains unresolved.
With no extension talks currently underway and his deal approaching its final stages, the club may view January as the last opportunity to secure a transfer fee. Besiktas has shown significant interest in the player, having previously submitted bids in July and August that were rejected by Newcastle.
Besiktas president Serdal Adalı has expressed a strong desire to sign the midfielder, noting that the club previously faced a £20 million asking price. If a deal is not reached, Willock could potentially sign a pre-contract agreement with an overseas club in early 2027 to avoid leaving Newcastle on a free transfer.
