Joel Pohjanpalo biography to be translated into Italian

The biography of Finnish footballer Joel Pohjanpalo, titled ‘Jolle – Il doge’, is set to be translated into Italian. The rights were acquired by Edizioni Kalós, a publishing house based in Palermo that was established in 1898.

Originally published in Finland by Tammi in August 2025, the book was written by award-winning sports journalist Ari Virtanen. The Italian release is planned for early 2027. The move highlights Pohjanpalo’s significant popularity in Italy, particularly in Sicily, where he plays as a forward for Palermo FC.

Virtanen noted that the translation reflects the high level of fame the player has achieved within the traditional Italian club and its fanbase. Pohjanpalo expressed excitement regarding the project, stating he never expected the book to interest international readers to the extent of being translated into another language.
