Joey Logano discusses NASCAR's new Chase format and Team Penske's Las Vegas prospects

NASCAR driver Joey Logano has commented on the increased impact of race victories following the implementation of the 2026 Chase format. Logano noted that while the mathematical changes were known, the actual effect on the championship battle is more dramatic than anticipated. Under the new system, a race win is worth 55 points, up from 40, which, when combined with stage points, allows drivers to accumulate significant leads.

As the series heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Team Penske remains a focal point for analysts. Despite shifts in the championship landscape, insiders suggest the organization remains a strong contender at the track. Joey Logano, a former champion, has a history of strong performance at the 1.5-mile circuit, having used victories there to secure critical positions in previous championship runs.
