Joey Logano flips during massive NASCAR crash at Talladega
A major multi-car accident occurred during the NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway with only five laps remaining. The crash, which triggered a red flag, involved numerous drivers including Austin Cindric, Brad Keselowski, Daniel Suarez, AJ Allmendinger, Chris Buescher, Chase Briscoe, Josh Berry, Erik Jones, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Alex Bowman, Carson Hocevar, Connor Zilisch, and Shane van Gisbergen.
Joey Logano’s No. 22 Ford Mustang flipped onto its roof after being turned in the tri-oval following a push from Carson Hocevar. The NASCAR safety team used a wrecker to flip the vehicle back onto its wheels so Logano could exit. Logano was checked and released from the infield care center, stating, “I can’t thank the safety crew enough. They did an amazing job flipping that thing over.” He noted that the roll cage remained intact during the impact.
Riley Herbst was also heavily involved, striking the outside wall before losing brake control and hitting the inner wall. Herbst was also evaluated and released from the infield care center.
