Joey Veerman discusses successful start at Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Joey Veerman has expressed his enthusiasm following his summer move from PSV Eindhoven to the German club. The 27-year-old, who joined for 22 million euros on a contract lasting until 2031, highlighted the intense atmosphere at Signal Iduna Park as a standout experience.

Veerman noted that he specifically sought a major club competing in the Champions League, leading him to reject offers from the Premier League and the Turkish league. He emphasized the importance of closing the gap with FC Bayern Munich and expressed high regard for teammate Serhou Guirassy, praising the striker's quality and movement.

Despite competition for his position, including established player Felix Nmecha, Veerman has secured regular playing time under manager Niko Kovač. He described the transition to playing outside of his native Netherlands as a positive step in his career.
