Joffrey Ballet CEO Greg Cameron to step down in 2027

Greg Cameron, President and CEO of the Joffrey Ballet, will step down in December 2027 after a 15-year tenure. The announcement follows a succession plan developed by Cameron and the organization’s Board of Directors three years ago.

During his leadership, which began in 2013, Cameron is credited with significantly improving the company’s financial stability. He eliminated a budget deficit, established the organization’s first endowment—which has grown to approximately $30 million—and oversaw an increase in the operating budget from $13 million to roughly $33 million. Under his direction, the company also moved its operations from The Auditorium to the Lyric Opera.

The Joffrey Board has formed a search committee and is in the process of selecting a national firm to lead the search for a successor. The board intends to cast a wide net, looking both within and outside the dance world for a leader to manage the institution.
