Johan Bakayoko faces potential exit from RB Leipzig

Belgian winger Johan Bakayoko is expected to leave RB Leipzig this winter due to a lack of playing time and sporting reasons. The 23-year-old has not featured for the Bundesliga club since early September, spending most of his recent time on the bench or in the stands.

While Bakayoko was briefly sidelined for disciplinary reasons after arriving late to a session, reports indicate his exclusion is primarily driven by performance. Coach Martin Demichelis has prioritized other players on the right wing, including Brajan Gruda, Tidiam Gomis, and Andrija Maksimovic.

Bakayoko joined the club in the summer of 2025 for 18 million euros following personal involvement from Jürgen Klopp to facilitate his move from PSV Eindhoven. After a disappointing debut season with only three goals in 22 matches, he has managed only three appearances since the current season began. The club is reportedly not standing in the way of a potential transfer this winter.
