Johan Gael Cardona de la Cruz family uses AI to aid search

Eleven years after the disappearance of Johan Gael Cardona de la Cruz, his family continues their search for the child, who vanished on October 4, 2015, in the La Esmeralda area of Galeana, Nuevo León.

To assist in the search, the Cardona de la Cruz family has utilized artificial intelligence to create a video projection of what Johan Gael might look like today at age 14. The AI-generated imagery depicts a teenager with his original features, including dark straight hair, light skin, and dark brown eyes, running through a forested area similar to the environment where he was last seen.

The parents, Miguel Ángel Cardona and Yajaira de la Cruz, have expressed the significant physical and emotional toll the decade-long search has taken. They continue to use social media to circulate his image and request public assistance in locating him, maintaining hope that he may still be alive.
