Johan Micoud to join Ligue 1+ as commentator

Former French international Johan Micoud is joining the Ligue 1+ platform as a commentator for the upcoming season. This move follows his departure from the television channel L’Équipe, where he served as a regular consultant and debater, notably on the program ‘L’Équipe du Soir’, since 2014.

Micoud, a former midfielder for Girondins de Bordeaux and a Euro 2000 winner, will transition from a studio consultant role to live match commentary. He is expected to commentate on up to two Ligue 1 matches per weekend, specifically focusing on the Saturday 17:15 time slot and potentially a Sunday slot. His debut on the platform is scheduled for August 29, featuring the match between Racing Club de Strasbourg and Racing Club de Lens.
