Johann Lafer receives standing ovation after cancer diagnosis

Celebrity chef Johann Lafer received a standing ovation from the audience during a filming of the VOX show ‘Grill den Henssler – Sommer-Special’ in Magdeburg. The appearance took place shortly after Lafer, 68, publicly disclosed his battle with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

During the broadcast, Lafer expressed his gratitude for being able to participate in normal life again, stating, “I am on the way to recovery and am very grateful that people are standing behind me.” Despite undergoing chemotherapy, Lafer maintained a positive demeanor during the program, which was recorded at Elbauenpark.

The emotional atmosphere of the show also included reflections from guest Holger Parsch, who shared his personal experience regarding his son’s battle with leukemia.
