Johann Lafer returns to culinary travel series following cancer diagnosis
Austrian chef Johann Lafer has shared reflections on his life and health following his public cancer diagnosis in May. In a recent interview, the 69-year-old Michelin-starred chef expressed a heightened sense of gratitude and a desire to live more consciously, stating, “I see every single day as a gift.”
In addition to his personal reflections, Lafer is returning to television. He is reuniting with fellow chef Steffen Henssler for a new installment of the culinary travel series ‘Grenzenlos Genial Gekocht’. Following a previous season focused on pizza in Italy, the duo is now embarking on a journey to master barbecue.
The new series features the chefs traveling to Vilnius, Lithuania, to participate in an international barbecue competition. A successful performance in Lithuania could earn them a spot at the BBQ World Championship in Texas, USA.
