Johannes Hegemann wins Blauer Panther award

Actor Johannes Hegemann has been awarded the Blauer Panther for Best Actor for his portrayal of drag queen Olivia Jones in the ZDF biopic ‘Olivia’. The jury praised Hegemann for his ability to balance physical transformation with inner truth, noting he approached the iconic cultural figure with great accuracy without falling into mere imitation.

During his acceptance speech in Munich, Hegemann addressed the audience, including conservative politicians such as Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder and Media Minister Florian Herrmann. He called for a clear distinction from the AfD political party and urged a firm commitment to the protection of minorities in Germany.
