Johannes Winkel elected deputy chair of CDU/CSU parliamentary group

The CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag has elected Johannes Winkel as one of its deputy chairpersons. Winkel, a 34-year-old jurist from the Düsseldorf constituency, will be responsible for labor and social affairs, employees, sports, and volunteer work. He succeeds Carsten Linnemann, who was appointed Federal Minister of Health in July.

Additionally, the parliamentary group elected Christina Stumpp to chair the working group for agriculture, nutrition, and home affairs. Stumpp, a tax and administration expert from the Waiblingen constituency, succeeds Johannes Steiniger, who moved to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs as a Parliamentary State Secretary.

Josef Oster has been chosen as the new chairman of the municipal politics working group, taking over from Klaus Mack, who was elected as deputy faction chairman for environment, climate protection, and economic cooperation and development in June.
