Johannesburg court postpones extradition of Ndodana Tshuma

A Johannesburg court has postponed the extradition hearing of Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma to September 8. Tshuma, a British-Zimbabwean citizen, is wanted in the United Kingdom for the alleged murder of his wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, and their two daughters, Natalie and Nala. The victims' bodies were discovered in Bedfordshire, England, in July.

In addition to the extradition request, Tshuma faces local charges in South Africa for the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, which were discovered at the time of his arrest. The hearing for the firearm charges has been set for September 10. The South African National Prosecuting Authority confirmed that all necessary documentation from UK authorities has been received and the ballistic report is finalized.

Defense counsel Chrispin Machingura requested the postponement to allow more time to consult with the accused, noting that Tshuma was not in a condition to provide full instructions during a previous meeting. Tshuma remains in custody and has reportedly abandoned his bail application regarding the firearm case.
