Johanniter and DRK expand emergency home call services in Germany

The Johanniter in East Bavaria have launched a new 24/7 emergency home call response service in the Amberg region. Designed to support elderly or health-impaired individuals, particularly those living alone, the service allows users to request immediate assistance at the touch of a button. To encourage adoption, the Johanniter are offering a four-week free trial period available until December 31, 2026.

In Krefeld, the German Red Cross (DRK) is participating in a North Rhine-Westphalia-wide campaign throughout November. During this period, interested individuals can test the DRK Krefeld home call service without paying the standard 39 Euro one-time service fee. The service provides 24-hour connectivity to trained staff who can monitor vital data and initiate emergency measures even if the caller is unable to speak.
