Massachusetts man indicted for cyberstalking Katie Miller

John Anthony Proia III, a 41-year-old Massachusetts man, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of cyberstalking Katie Miller, a conservative podcaster and former Trump administration official. Prosecutors allege that between August and September, Proia contacted Miller at least 40 times using multiple phone numbers to leave menacing voicemails and vulgar text messages.

The indictment further alleges that Proia targeted Miller’s parents with disturbing messages, including antisemitic slurs directed at her husband, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller. Proia has pleaded not guilty.

The case has drawn attention due to internal friction within the FBI’s Washington Field Office. Reports indicate that two senior counterterrorism officials were demoted and reassigned following disagreements regarding the handling and approach to the investigation. While the FBI stated these were personnel decisions based on mission needs, the reassignments occurred amidst the scrutiny of the Miller probe.
