John Barsby Bulldogs defeat Ballenas Whalers in JV football exhibition

The Ballenas Whalers junior varsity football team lost their pre-season BC High School Football exhibition game against the John Barsby Bulldogs with a score of 28-6. The game took place on September 9 at Ballenas Secondary.

The Whalers' only touchdown came from a 30-yard pass by quarterback Maverick Henley to Tristan Scruton. While the team showed ability to move the ball, they struggled to score additional points against the Bulldogs, who are the current provincial AA champions.

Head coach Dan Smith noted that while the team possesses talent, they must focus on teamwork and reducing mistakes. Smith described the performance as a learning experience to prepare for the upcoming BC Secondary Schools Football Association season.
