John Beasley to leave Malaysian cycling squad for Japan

Despite Datuk Mohd Azizulhasni Awang winning gold in the keirin event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, experienced coach John Beasley has maintained his decision to leave the Malaysian national track cycling squad.

Beasley confirmed he will move on to continue his career with Japan following the conclusion of the Asian Games campaign. The Australian-born coach expressed a desire to target the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics as the final chapter of his professional career, noting his father's history with the Australian team during the last Olympics held in that city.
