New Patriotic Party elects John Boadu as National Chairman

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has elected a new set of national executives during its National Delegates Conference in Kumasi. John Boadu emerged as the new National Chairman, defeating Boakye Agyarko and Paul Afoko. Justin Frimpong Kodua secured a second term as General Secretary, while other key winners include Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover as National Organiser and Mavis Hawa Koomson as National Women’s Organiser.

Following the elections, NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has initiated several strategic moves to prepare for the 2028 general elections. These include a nationwide search for parliamentary candidates to identify individuals with high electoral viability, regardless of traditional primary outcomes. Bawumia also held strategic meetings with Ashanti Regional stakeholders and ordered the immediate dissolution of all campaign teams to prevent internal divisions.

While the election was described as peaceful, some political analysts have raised questions regarding the selection of certain officials and the party's readiness for the next electoral cycle. Newly elected Chairman John Boadu emphasized that the party will focus on taking calculated risks to regain power, asserting that the primary objective is winning the 2028 presidency.
