John Boadu leads NPP chairmanship race in new poll

A survey by Global InfoAnalytics indicates that former New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary John Boadu is currently leading the race for the party’s National Chairman position. According to the poll released on August 20, 2026, Boadu holds 27% support among NPP voters, placing him ahead of former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko at 15% and former NPP National Chairman Paul Afoko at 10%.

Despite Boadu’s lead and his high favourability rating of 61%, the contest remains highly uncertain. Approximately 47% of respondents are undecided, a significant bloc that could determine the final outcome of the national executive elections.

Regional data shows Boadu leading in several areas, including Bono East (43%), Upper East (41%), Greater Accra (38%), and North East (38%). Agyarko remains competitive in regions such as Bono East and Greater Accra, while Afoko saw his strongest support in the Savannah Region.
