John Brennan subpoenaed in Florida grand jury probe

Former CIA Director John Brennan has been subpoenaed to testify before a federal grand jury in Fort Pierce, Florida, on October 15. The subpoena is part of a Justice Department conspiracy investigation into whether intelligence and law enforcement officials engaged in a decade-long effort to deprive Donald Trump of his civil rights.

Prosecutors are reportedly examining the role of intelligence officials in the Trump-Russia collusion narrative. According to court filings, the Florida-based probe is described as a “far-reaching” conspiracy investigation that includes issues at Mar-a-Lago and beyond.

In addition to the broader conspiracy case, Brennan is reportedly a target of a separate, narrower investigation in Washington regarding whether he made false statements to Congress in 2023 concerning the January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment. Brennan’s legal counsel has denied allegations that he lied to Congress.
