John Calipari advocates for Protect College Sports Act

University of Arkansas head coach John Calipari is advocating for the passage of the Protect College Sports Act on Capitol Hill. Calipari expressed concerns regarding the increasing influence of private equity in college athletics, arguing that such investment could be devastating for non-revenue sports.

The proposed legislation aims to establish requirements for name, image, or likeness (NIL) agreements for student-athletes. It also seeks to provide a limited antitrust exemption for schools and conferences to pool and sell certain college sports media rights.
