John Carpenter to Curate TCM Film Series and Launch Graphic Novel at Midsummer Scream

Horror filmmaker John Carpenter will host a two‑night programming block called “The Carpenter Zone” on Turner Classic Movies in July. The first night on July 16 will feature six classic sci‑fi and monster movies, including The Quatermass Xperiment and Them!, with host Alicia Malone. The second night on July 23 will focus on Hammer horror, screening The Curse of Frankenstein, The Mummy and Curse of the Demon.

In August, Carpenter will appear at the Midsummer Scream convention in Long Beach, California. He is releasing his first original graphic novel, CATHEDRAL, on August 4 through Storm King Comics, accompanied by a soundtrack album released on August 7 via Sacred Bones Records. The convention will host a VIP listening party, a signing session on August 8, and a panel discussion on August 9 featuring Storm King Comics CEO Sandy King.

Both events highlight Carpenter’s continued influence in horror cinema and his expansion into graphic storytelling and music.
