John Cena marks 20 years in acting career

Actor and former professional wrestler John Cena is marking 20 years since his film debut in ‘The Marine’. While his early transition from WWE to Hollywood was marked by critical and commercial struggles, Cena has since established himself as a major film star.

Reflecting on his early career, Cena admitted that his initial projects lacked quality because his focus remained on professional wrestling. He noted that at age 27, the quiet environment of a film set could not compete with the energy of performing before thousands of fans in a wrestling arena. He stated that he was not fully invested in acting during that period.

Since shifting his mindset and commitment, Cena has appeared in numerous successful projects, including the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise, ‘Barbie’, ‘Peacemaker’, and ‘The Suicide Squad’. His filmography now includes approximately 35 movies with a combined global box office total exceeding $5 billion.
