John Cena Says Hair Transplants 'Totally Changed My Life
John Cena spoke at San Diego Comic‑Con about his recent hair‑restoration journey, revealing that he underwent two follicular unit extraction (FUE) procedures performed by Dr Ken Anderson at the Anderson Center for Hair in Georgia. The first operation lasted about 13½ hours and the second about eight hours, totaling more than 20 hours of surgery. Cena explained that shaving his head before the second round allowed the surgeon to transplant follicles more efficiently. He described the results as life‑changing, praising Anderson as a “master” and noting he returned 15 months after the initial treatment to address a small remaining spot. Cena also shared aspects of his post‑procedure care, including red‑light therapy, minoxidil, vitamins, and specific shampoos and conditioners.
He emphasized that societal stigma delayed his decision, saying he would have sought treatment earlier if not for the shame surrounding baldness. The interview was conducted by PEOPLE magazine and highlighted his confidence in the procedure’s outcome.
