John Cleese to embark on theatre tour featuring Monty Python film

Actor and comedian John Cleese is embarking on a theatre tour throughout September to present screenings of the 1975 classic film, ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’. During the tour, Cleese will introduce the film and participate in question-and-answer sessions with the audience.

The tour is scheduled to begin in Basingstoke on 1 September, with subsequent stops including Tunbridge Wells and Woking. Cleese noted that while he has seen the film over 7,000 times, he finds the process of sharing its history and the circumstances of its production—which was filmed in Scotland on a limited budget of £240,000—to be an extraordinary experience.
