John Cusack clarifies rumors regarding ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘The Breakfast Club’ roles
Actor John Cusack has addressed long-standing rumors regarding roles he was allegedly offered in major film and television productions. During an appearance on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast with Josh Horowitz, Cusack clarified that he was never offered the role of Walter White in the series ‘Breaking Bad’. He noted that he even personally asked creator Vince Gilligan about the rumor, only to be told it was untrue. The role eventually went to Bryan Cranston.
Cusack also addressed rumors concerning ‘The Breakfast Club’, stating he was not offered the role of John Bender. While he expressed that he would have been interested in the script, the part was ultimately played by Judd Nelson. Cusack, who previously appeared in John Hughes’ ‘Sixteen Candles’, discussed how his father’s advice helped him avoid the pitfalls of celebrity culture during his rise to fame.
