John Deere agrees to $99 million class action settlement
John Deere has reached a proposed $99 million class action settlement following allegations that the company withheld certain diagnostic and repair tools from customers and independent repair providers. The lawsuit claims these actions forced customers to pay higher costs for repairs.
The settlement applies to individuals or businesses in the United States who purchased repair services for qualifying equipment—including certain tractors, combines, and cotton pickers—from John Deere or an authorized dealer between January 10, 2018, and May 18, 2026. While the cash settlement is $99 million, plaintiffs’ experts estimate the total value, including injunctive relief, could range between $392.9 million and $747 million.
Eligible claimants must submit their claims by December 31, 2026. A final approval hearing is scheduled for January 19, 2027.
