John Dolmayan Said to Have Grown Tired of Supporting Trump, Says Bandmate Serj Tankian

Serj Tankian, vocalist of System of a Down, told Rolling Stone Italy that drummer John Dolmayan, his brother‑in‑law, may no longer back U.S. President Donald Trump. Tankian noted that Dolmayan had openly supported Trump, voting for him in 2016, 2020 and again in 2024, but now “se cansou de Trump” (has grown tired of Trump). He added that Dolmayan previously voted for Barack Obama before turning to the Republican candidate. Tankian emphasized that despite political differences the two share strong family ties, Armenian heritage and a long‑standing musical partnership within the band.
