John F. Kennedy and Jackie Bouvier wedding anniversary

On September 12, 1953, Senator John F. Kennedy married Jacqueline Bouvier in a grand ceremony. The wedding was attended by approximately 600 to 800 guests, including diplomats, senators, and prominent social figures.

Jackie Bouvier wore an ivory silk taffeta gown designed by Ann Lowe, one of the first notable African American fashion designers. The dress featured a portrait neckline and utilized 50 yards of material. Following the religious ceremony, a reception was held for hundreds of guests at Hammersmith Farm, the Bouvier family estate.
