John Flaherty embraces new chapter after YES Network career ends
Former New York Yankees catcher and long-time YES Network analyst John Flaherty is embracing a new chapter of life following the conclusion of his broadcasting career. Flaherty's contract was not renewed after the 2025 season, leaving the network with primary analysts David Cone, Paul O’Neill, and Joe Girardi.
Speaking at the Yankees' Old-Timers' Day in the Bronx, Flaherty noted that the transition was not a surprise and that he anticipated the change. After 14 major league seasons and a 20-year tenure in television, he is enjoying his first summer without a baseball schedule in 38 years. While he has not ruled out a future return to a studio or broadcast booth, he stated he is currently enjoying the freedom of his time.
