John Green returns to fiction with new novel ‘Um final de cinema’

Author John Green has returned to fiction with his new novel, ‘Um final de cinema’ (A Movie Ending), marking his first fiction release in nine years. The book represents Green’s debut in adult fiction.

The story follows two young actors, Kai Laramie and Juniper Castillo, who are cast as the leads in a biographical film about Andy Warhol. As the film becomes a phenomenon, the protagonists navigate a burgeoning romance alongside the complexities of sudden fame, public exposure, and the influence of social media on personal identity.

Green spent eight years working on the manuscript, which explores themes of love, loss, and the psychological impact of constant public attention in the digital age.
