New York Giants aggressively pursue roster upgrades ahead of NFL trade deadline

The New York Giants, currently leading the NFC East with a 4-2-1 record, are actively seeking roster improvements ahead of the November 10 trade deadline. Head coach John Harbaugh and general manager Joe Schoen are reportedly prioritizing additions to the backfield and defensive line to bolster a playoff push.

Multiple reports suggest the Giants are leading the pursuit for Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor. While the Colts are seeking significant draft capital, prediction markets like Kalshi have seen the Giants' odds of landing Taylor rise from 16 percent to 40 percent. Other teams, including the Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos, remain in the conversation.

In an effort to secure defensive depth, Harbaugh confirmed he personally reached out to Tennessee Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk regarding defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. Although Simmons was ultimately traded to the Chicago Bears, the move highlights the team's willingness to use all available connections to improve the roster. Additionally, veteran cornerback Greg Newsome II recently signed a three-year, $46 million contract extension with the club.
