John J. Healey reflects on decades in Andalusia
Writer John J. Healey has released ‘Recuerdos del Sur’ (Renacimiento), a book documenting 57 years of his experiences, much of which took place in Andalusia, Spain.
Healey recounts his arrival in Málaga in May 1969, describing a landscape vastly different from the modern era, characterized by a lack of major highways, urban developments, and mass tourism. He details his time staying at the Buena Vista estate in Churriana, noting the social atmosphere of the time and his interactions with figures such as Gerald Brenan.
