John James proposes energy plan to lower Michigan electricity rates

The proposal centers on five pillars: electricity rates, storm outage relief, consumer energy choice, the Michigan Public Service Commission, and data centers. James intends to oppose renewable energy mandates, which he claims drive rate increases from major utilities such as DTE Energy and Consumers Energy. Additionally, he is calling for automatic compensation for customers facing frequent power outages and more efficient coordination of infrastructure projects to prevent repetitive road construction.
