John Konchar draws interest from multiple Eastern Conference NBA teams

Veteran wing John Konchar has drawn interest from several Eastern Conference teams as a free agent, including the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, and Toronto Raptors.

Konchar, a seven-year veteran known for his versatility and defensive capabilities, was most recently waived by the Minnesota Timberwolves following a trade involving Cody Williams. While he has not averaged high scoring totals, he has served as a reliable rotation player and ‘glue guy’ during his tenure with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Financial constraints may impact potential signings. The Toronto Raptors are currently operating with limited space below the first-apron hard cap, having recently acquired Kawhi Leonard. While the Knicks, Heat, and Magic have more flexibility, they are all operating near the luxury tax line. Konchar’s $6.17 million salary for the 2026/27 season is guaranteed by Minnesota, allowing him to wait for a favorable opportunity.
