Maximiliano Robledo wins WBA eliminator via disqualification

Argentine boxer Maximiliano Robledo secured a victory over Ghanaian fighter John Laryea via disqualification in a World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight eliminator. The bout, held at the Cúpula Arena in Buenos Aires, ended in the ninth round after Laryea was penalized for repeated infractions, including fouls and low blows.

Laryea, who entered the match with an undefeated professional record of 17-0, saw his performance decline after the third round. According to reports, he increasingly relied on clinching and was warned multiple times by the referee for various fouls. The defeat marks the first loss of Laryea's professional career and significantly impacts his pursuit of a WBA world title.

In the same event, organized as ‘KO a las Drogas’, Argentine boxer Cristin Ayala also secured a victory by knocking out Venezuelan Algerbis González in the third round.
