John Legend announces new album ‘Muse’ and single ‘Daylight’

Singer and producer John Legend has announced his new album, ‘Muse’, which is scheduled for release on Friday, October 23, 2026. The project is preceded by the single ‘Daylight’, set to be available on September 18.

Produced executive by Pharrell Williams and recorded at Louis Vuitton Studios, ‘Muse’ is described as a cinematic work that explores various genres of Black music, including gospel, soul, doo-wop, Afrobeat, and hip hop. Legend stated that the project represents a departure from his traditional piano-led ballads as he seeks to move outside his comfort zone.

The collaboration between Legend and Williams reportedly began following Legend’s appearance on the Clipse album ‘Let God Sort ‘Em Out’. The new album draws inspiration from artists such as Nina Simone, Nat King Cole, and Marvin Gaye, blending traditional influences with contemporary sensibilities.
