John Legend announces new album ‘Muse’ produced by Pharrell Williams

Singer-songwriter John Legend has announced his upcoming studio album, ‘Muse’, scheduled for release on October 23 via Republic Records. The 16-track project is produced entirely and co-written by Pharrell Williams, marking the first full collaborative album between the longtime friends.

Moving away from the piano-driven ballads that have defined much of his career, Legend described the new sound as having a ‘Black James Bond aesthetic’. The album incorporates a wide range of Black musical genres, including gospel, doo-wop, classic soul, Afrobeat, and hip-hop. The creative process began in January 2025 in Paris, with recording sessions held at Pharrell Williams’ studio located within the Louis Vuitton headquarters.

The lead single, ‘Daylight’, has already been released and was recently previewed during a performance in Nashville. The collaboration was inspired by Legend’s recent vocal appearance on the Clipse album ‘Let God Sort ’Em Out’, which was also produced by Williams.
