John Legend releases twelfth studio album Muse

Singer John Legend has released his twelfth studio album, titled ‘Muse’, via Republic Records on October 23, 2026. The 16-track project was produced entirely by Pharrell Williams, marking the first full-length collaboration between the two longtime friends.

The album features a diverse musical range, blending soul, gospel, doo-wop, afrobeats, and hip-hop with orchestral elements like strings and horns. Legend described the sonic direction as having a ‘Black James Bond’ feel. To celebrate the release, a music video for the track ‘Bodies On The Floor’, featuring the duo Clipse, has been released.

In addition to the album, Legend is expanding into musical theater. He is producing the stage score for ‘Imitation of Life’, an original musical based on a novel by Fannie Hurst. Previews for the production are scheduled to begin on November 21 at The Shed in New York, with the official opening following on December 3, 2026.
