John Lewis launches online Christmas shop amid surge in festive searches
John Lewis has launched its online Christmas shop early, noting a significant surge in festive interest. The retailer reported that searches for “Christmas” increased by more than 33% week-on-week immediately following the World Cup final, arriving approximately three weeks earlier than in the previous year.
To meet consumer demand for convenience, 70% of the retailer’s Christmas tree selection this year is pre-lit. A featured product is the Aylesford Super Pre-Lit tree, which contains over 4,200 bulbs. The range also includes slimline, compact, and twig-style designs to accommodate decorating multiple rooms.
Other seasonal offerings include a collection of felt animals and mice inspired by nostalgia and pop culture, as well as the return of “Santa’s Tea Parties” in select stores. Cydney Ball, Head of Christmas at John Lewis, stated the launch aims to help customers craft a magical home with curated gifting and heirloom-inspired decorations.
