John Malkovich to perform in Tel Aviv next April

American actor John Malkovich is scheduled to perform in Israel on April 13 at the Charles Bronfman Auditorium in Tel Aviv. He will star in ‘The Music Critic’, a satirical theatrical-musical production conceived by Russian-German Jewish composer Aleksey Igudesman.

The production blends classical music with comedy, featuring Malkovich as an “evil critic” who delivers scathing reviews of legendary composers such as Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms, and Frédéric Chopin. The performance includes live music by Igudesman and pianist Hyung-ki Joo.

Malkovich’s return is notable as it occurs during a period of regional conflict and cultural boycotts that have impacted international bookings in Israel. Expressing solidarity with the local public, Malkovich stated, “I am thrilled to return to Israel and look forward to meeting the warm Israeli audience once again, to whom I feel a strong closeness and solidarity.”
