John Malois organizes training camp for Canadian junior cyclists
Olympic athlete and coach John Malois organized a voluntary seven-day preparatory training camp in Bromont for four Canadian female track cyclists. The camp was designed to ensure the athletes could work effectively as a cohesive unit before competing in the team pursuit event at the Junior Track Cycling World Championships in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium.
Malois, a 1992 Barcelona Olympian, noted the importance of technical preparation, specifically focusing on starts and relays. He assembled an experienced coaching team, including recently retired athlete Ariane Bonhomme, to assist with the training. The athletes, who showed strong performance at the Canadian Championships in March, will represent Canada in the endurance events starting this Wednesday.
