John Mayer performs Hamptons concert and tributes Dolly Parton

John Mayer performed an intimate, career-spanning set at the Stephen Talkhouse in the Hamptons on Wednesday night for a private SiriusXM showcase. The event marked Mayer’s only live performance of the summer and featured a rare appearance with his full band.

During the encore, Mayer paid tribute to country music icon Dolly Parton, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 80. He incorporated an instrumental rendition of the guitar solo from Parton’s 1974 classic “I Will Always Love You” into the introduction of his song “Gravity.”

The star-studded audience included high-profile guests such as Paul McCartney, Stella McCartney, Michael J. Fox, Howard and Beth Stern, Andy Cohen, and Katie Couric. The performance will be available on the SiriusXM app and via the Life with John Mayer channel.
