John Olson indicted for child sexual abuse material charges in New Jersey

John Olson, 44, of Point Pleasant Borough, has been indicted by an Ocean County grand jury on multiple charges related to child sexual abuse material. The charges include the distribution and possession of such material, as well as four counts of manufacturing it.

The investigation began over a year ago after detectives flagged an IP address linked to Olson’s home for involvement in sending and receiving child pornography via Kik Messenger. During a search of the residence on August 22, 2025, investigators seized several electronic devices.

Authorities stated that Olson’s home had previously served as a foster home. Investigators found that cameras located in the children’s bedrooms were used to capture nude images of young victims, which were subsequently found on Olson’s cell phone. Olson has been released from Ocean County Jail pending trial.
