John Sargent targets Flight Stakes with Global Goal

Trainer John Sargent is targeting the Group 1 Flight Stakes for the three-year-old filly Global Goal. The daughter of Pinatubo is scheduled to compete in the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) at Randwick this Saturday.

Sargent has implemented a strategic campaign for the lightly built filly, choosing to bypass the Furious Stakes following her third-place finish in the Silver Shadow Stakes. To assist with her concentration, Sargent has added side winkers for her upcoming run.

While Sargent has seen success in the Tea Rose Stakes previously with Four Moves Ahead, he noted that Global Goal is a lighter filly who is unlikely to be raced beyond a mile distance.
